Responsabilities

Under the responsibility of the Operations Project Authority, the Ground Operations Coordinator is responsible for the ground operations of the assigned air base. The coordinator is involved in the logistical organization and implementation of the spray program.

Specifically, you will:
• Install and disassemble the operating base;
• Ensure proper operation and availability of equipment;
• Coordinate and supervise the work of the Day Labourer team to ensure smooth ground operations;
• Receive deliveries of insecticides and monitor inventory;
• Operate the equipment required to load aircraft with insecticide (generator, pump, vacuum, etc.);
• Use carpentry, plumbing and mechanical equipment as required;
• Implement prescribed occupational health and safety and environmental policies;
• Liaise between the air base and operations management;
• Support the base manager in the daily management of the base;
• Monitor hosting for the base of operations;
• Maintain and monitor workplaces.

Remuneration and working conditions offered by SOPFIM

A guaranteed pay of 50 hours from Monday to Friday and 12 hours at time-and-a-half on the weekend;
Eligible for an expense account (including travel, hotel and expense allowance) when assigned to an air base outside your region;
An hourly wage of $25.94;
Employment of 11 to 12 weeks;
Possibility to renew your employment each year;
The work schedule varies from day to day depending on weather conditions.

Job Requirements

• Have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence;
• Mechanical, plumbing or carpentry training is an asset;
• Be available for training from March 25 to April 19, 2024;
• Be available 7 days a week during the operational period starting around April 20, 2024 until July 4, 2024;
• Remain available to travel to and from any air base during this time;
• People management experience an asset

Skills sought

Ability to work long hours of up to 10 hours per day;
• Ability to work very early in the morning and on cut shifts;
• Comfortable with management and teamwork;
• Be comfortable with IT and the Microsoft Office suite;
• Fluency in oral English is an asset;
• Carefully and fully follows prescribed procedures and work methods to ensure superior quality and accuracy.
