SOPFIM\u2019s main mandate is to protect Quebec forests during the spruce budworm (SBW) epidemic. The regions currently affected by the epidemic are Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Capitale-Nationale, Gasp\u00e9sie, C\u00f4te-Nord, Chaudi\u00e8re-Appalaches and Outaouais.<\/p>\n \n \n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Our Mission<\/h2>\n \n \n

SOPFIM\u2019s mission is to protect forest resources against insects and diseases in harmony with its environment. Its main mandate to date is the control of the spruce budworm (SBW). To do so, it carries out aerial spraying programs of biological insecticide (Btk<\/em>) on Quebec’s forests.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
