The SOPFIM applies specific selection criteria to protect forest tracts vulnerable to attacks of the spruce budworm in natural forests of the public domain and large private forests.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The minimum area to be protected shall be 50 ha (or 20 ha to 49 ha with a maximum distance of 100 metres between);<\/li>\n<li>It must be composed of species vulnerable to TBT (mainly balsam fir) at a percentage of at least 38%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n                <\/div>\n                \n                \n            <\/div>\n\n            \n            <div class=\"\">\n\n                                <h2 class=\"h2 pb-7 font-bold  text-vertForet !leading-tight tracking-wide\">\n                    Aerial Surveys and Results\n                <\/h2>\n                \n                                <div class=\"text-content text-black\">\n                    <p>Each year, the Minist\u00e8re (MRNF) conducts an aerial survey of damage caused by the spruce budworm in Quebec forests, which allows us to assess the effectiveness of our protection programs. To be successful, our interventions must have protected at least 50% of annual foliage in at least 80% of protected areas.<\/p>\n\n                <\/div>\n                \n                \n            <\/div>\n\n                        \n        <\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<script src=\"https:\/\/unpkg.com\/swiper\/swiper-bundle.min.js\"><\/script>\n\n\n<div
